Introduction:

These web pages describe work carried out for a third year project for a BSc Computer Science degree. The project covers the use of strong object-oriented principles, such as the OMT, to develop a fully-functional application. The final product will be a software system capable of the tasks specified in the project statement, passing the acceptance tests.

This report does not aim to teach OMT, UML or C++. It aims to demonstrate their use and application to a suitable problem, to examine conceptual problems during development and how the development process being adopted helps overcome them.

The software was developed in C++ using Microsoft Developer Studio 5.0/6.0.

ENTROPY
THE GAME OF ORDER AND CHAOS

Entropy: A lack of pattern or organisation, disorder, the tendency for things to become chaotic; The brilliant game of order and chaos.

In this simple game one player takes the part of time and the forces of decay and tries to destroy the ordered patterns being built up by their opponent, who takes the part of the external, constructive energy source. Each player gets a turn at each role. The more order that a player creates the greater their score.
